TRADITIONAL WORSHIP

We have a wide variety of traditional worship opportunities here at St. Mark. Read below for information about our choirs and other opportunities. If you have a musical gift you would like to share with us, or just want more information, please email Rebecca Gundlach

CHOIRS

St Mark's choirs will not be performing during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Senior Choir

You can still reach out to the the Director Wendy Weidner for information about joining (wendyweidner22@yahoo.com), They usually meet for one hour on Thursday evenings, beginning at 7:30PM (Sept – May).  The senior choir sings a variety of music, often collaborating with brass groups, bells, and soloists. During the school year, we sing about twice a month, and at specials times such as Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. The senior choir welcomes singers of all ability levels and experience.  Please stop by and sing with us!

Cherub Choir

Cherub Choir is open to children from age 4 through 2nd grade, and meets during the first part of Sunday School during the school year.  Jennifer Miller leads the Cherubs during the 8 o’clock service throughout the Sunday School season. Please encourage your child to sing with the Cherubs by singing along with them during the week!

Bell Choir

St. Mark’s “Bells of Joy”  bell choir will be on Covid-19 hiatus for the '20-'21 season.

When active the hand bell choir is open to anyone high school age and up who loves to make music! We invite you to join our group whether you are a seasoned bell ringer, or have never rung before (some musical experience is helpful) – we will train you! We need regular ringers, and substitutes.  They play a variety of music about once a month during the traditional services, sometimes in conjunction with other groups.

Brass Choir

The brass choir is open to instrumentalists of intermediate level or above, and meets seasonally to prepare special music for holiday services, which may include Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Easter, or certain collaborations with the choir. Please contact Wendy Weidner (wendyweidner22@yahoo.com) if you would like to be on the list, and she will contact you with a semi-annual itinerary.

Cantors

Many of the liturgy settings used in the traditional service at St. Mark rely on cantors.  If you are interested in being a cantor, we are happy to work with you to go through the settings of the Liturgy used at St. Mark and to see if they work with your range and comfort level.  Cantors are scheduled by Rebecca Gundlach.

Soloist/Small Ensemble Opportunities

We are always looking for those who would like to be part of an occasional small group, or who would like to offer their vocal or instrumental talents.  We have a small library of music that is ever growing, but are happy to consider pieces individuals or groups have already learned! Please talk to Rebecca Gundlach (rrgundlach@gmail.com) to find out about scheduling a special music slot.
