St. Mark has been part of the Pads program welcoming homeless guests into our church on Friday nights for over 25 years.  This season like everything else this year will be different.  The Pads guests will not be housed at different churches each night.  Since April they have been put up in hotels and will continue to be in hotels through April 2021.  This is safer for the guests and the volunteers.  This means we will not need volunteers or food at St. Mark on Fridays this year. If you are interested in helping you can go to their website.  Click here to learn more about PADS Lake County or call 847-689-4357.  They are always looking for non perishable food items, hygiene supplies, gift cards to Walmart or McD’s and of course monetary donations.  Please check before you bring items to make sure what is needed at that time.  Please keep the PADS program in your prayers as they navigate this new normal.  They are still looking for a permanent site where everyone can be housed at one place.  If you know of any large empty spaces that would allow them to use their space ....preferably with showers let the Pads office know.

In partnership with Bill Glass Prison Ministries, we help to put on events at the prisons in the Chicago area. Your help is needed not only in ministering to inmates, but also in event logistics (such as picking up a guest speaker from the airport).

The Welcome Team greets members and guests as they enter the church for Sunday worship services.  Their purpose is to make people feel welcome when attending St Mark.  They are ambassadors to our guess, answering logistical questions and making sure the guests receive the assistance they need.  In addition, at least one team member is responsible for sending welcome notes to our first and second time guests. Email Joyce Mol for more information.

Altar Servers, is a unique ministry at St, Mark. Servers are an important and much appreciated part of our worship experience. When you serve with the Pastors, you serve the people of God, and above all, you serve Christ. Altar servers are typically scheduled for Holy Communion every Saturday evening at 5:30pm and 1st and 3rd Sundays both 8am and 10:30am. One server assists serving the bread on Saturday and three for each service on Sunday. Contact: Carl Norlin (847) 356-6084 or
