A new ministry at St. Mark has been created with the construction of a granite Columbarium on the property for St. Mark active members and extended family to inurn the cremated ashes of their loved ones.

A columbarium is an above-ground structure with recesses or niches to receive urns containing human cremation ashes. The St. Mark Columbarium has 80 niches capable of holding 160 urns. It is centered on a circular patio made of golden tan paver bricks accented with tri-color red pavers around the edge, granite bench seating, lighted paver pathways from the church and two parking lots, and surrounded by flowering perennials, shrubs and trees, creating a beautiful Peace Garden for meditation.

The St. Mark columbarium is a granite column standing 6' 3-1/2" high, has a polished mahogany finish, a polished capstone with a rock pitch face, and a base with a sanded top edge and a rock pitch face.

Each of the 80 niches can hold 2 urns of a maximum size of 10” high and 6” wide each. The granite face of each niche will be inscribed with the names of the deceased and the dates of birth and death. Optional inscribed emblems of various themes, including military, are available.

A Peace Garden and Columbarium Ministry Team manages the structure and garden.  All funds received from a niche sale are held in escrow for construction of the next columbarium when capacity is reached and perpetual care of the structure and garden. St. Mark members are invited to contact the ministry team for further information about niche purchases.
